Last week WF Fund president, Dilnaz Waraich, and director of strategic philanthropy, Tamela Spicer, visited Augsburg University to learn about their interfaith work. Holding true to their Lutheran roots, Augsburg has created an inclusive culture that welcomes a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.
The unique campus culture embraces many first generation students from the Minneapolis – St. Paul community and beyond. Augsburg not only shapes their work around the diversity of their students, but they allow that diversity to shape the university. They adapt, learn, and grow together to express the uniqueness of varios ethnic, religious, and cultural identities across the campus.
The WF Fund team enjoyed lunch with the religious studies faculty, had an enriching conversation with President Paul Pribbenow, and learned from the leadership of the Muslim Student Association. We are thankful to Najeeba Syeed for hosting our visit.
